Grief at Knot's End

A friend posted the lyrics to this song today. I only wish I had been in the old white chapel at Camp Hopewell in Oxford on this sunny morning listening to Todd and Danny play and Kendall and Carie sing.
This especially made me think of my DMIN group, as we struggled this week through words of theology and understanding God’s purpose.
Words by Todd Jenkins. Music by Danny Kelly.
Pray for the morning, pray for the night time
Pray for the ones you love
Pray for today, pray for tomorrow
Pray for the grief and the sorrow
May you always find ways to share life more fully
While knowing the love that you had
Does not wait for you on the edges of nowhere
Love comforts here and now
The knot’s at the end of the rope for a reason
Your stories touch lives you don’t know
Remember that hope is not just a season
It breathes and it plots the whole damn show
You can’t stand alone when we are all in together
As changes in life unfold
Calm your racing heart, pay attention to the details
Ponder the infinite unknown
Pray for the morning, pray for the night time
Pray for the ones that you love
Pray for today, pray for tomorrow
Pray for the grief and the sorrow.
